Mark studied classical piano during his youth on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. While working on a record for a band he was in, he discovered his interest in recording engineering. Mark has worked for Capitol Mastering since 1989. Spending the next few years doing production work for Wally Traugott and Bob Norberg, Mark had the opportunity to learn from two of the best mastering engineers in the country. “Wally and Bob were very encouraging and taught me a great deal about how to really listen” says Mark.

By 1995 Mark had become a full time digital editing engineer on Sonic Solutions. It was at this time when Mark began working with local L.A. independent recording artist Sublime and punk labels Theologian and Lobster Records. Gaining the attention of the local L.A. music scene, Mark soon found himself mastering albums for The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Space Twins, and The Vandals. He has also worked with James Brown, Master P, Scott Weiland, June Carter Cash, Los Tucanes De Tijuana and Dave Davies.

See Mark’s complete discography on allmusic.com.

Mark works in Editing Suite 1.
